TEAM LEGACY 91. THE JOURNEY SO FAR

Team Legacy 91 could be said to be a child of the lockdown 😁😁😁 as it was created in the year 2020, in the month of March, when men and women who are alumni of both Annunciation School and St Louis Grammar School, both in Ikere Ekiti, Ekiti State, decided to come together as one, and created Team Legacy 91.

Our Alma Mater have their individual alumni groups, which function independently. Team Legacy is therefore a kind of confluence, a unique blend of friends who left High School together. It is to be noted that these schools are situated beside each other and there is the age long practice of interaction between the two schools, both being of the catholic extraction.

Hence we have a sort of history and some remembrance of one another. Coming together in March 2020 of willing members of the 1991 set birthed an unusual and dynamic group. We have intertwined memories and it was so nostalgic bringing back those events that joined us together more than 30 years ago. The platform became something like a big family house that everyone could come to at anytime and find other people to interact with. It was a home of fun, bants, laughter and joy. As this continued, a very close bond was formed. It was simply beautiful.

We have our unique celebrations, each person had their unique roles as we discovered that we have great script writers in our midst. As we bonded, we came up with a way to give back to our schools, hence our plan to have an annual debate/quiz competition between the two schools.

This is to challenge the current students and also in our own little way give something back to the schools that has given us a great launch pad into the society. The plan was actualized as we had the debut of this program in May 2021 and it was a huge success, with the First Lady of Ekiti State, Chief (Mrs) Bisi Fayemi, Emeritus Bishop M. Fagun and other eminent personalities in attendance. We look forward to achieving more milestones and success in our philanthropic endeavor, in our personal lives, mutually benefitting as we serve one another, above self, in all that we do.
